Breech-ish Baby

We had an appointment today, at 33 weeks and 1 day, to see where exactly Guido's hanging out in there. He did move slightly—but in the wrong direction. Naturally. He's somewhere between transverse and breech now. We'll discuss this issue at my next appointment in 2 weeks.

Aside from that news, it was a pretty uneventful appointment. We did get to see our little chubs, though—and he was as uncooperative and camera shy as always. We've still never gotten a good glimpse of his face, but this just means we'll be extra surprised when he arrives.

I love that his nose somehow looks like both Danny's and mine here. (And only a mommy could look at a photo this distorted and cry because her baby is so beautiful.)

The ultrasound tech (I first typed "ultratech sound," which made me laugh out loud just now) estimates that Guido is currently about 5lbs 2oz, meaning he's measuring approximately a week ahead. He'll most likely be pushing 9 pounds at birth if he continues to grow at the rate he has been.

I always assumed I'd have smaller babies because my mom and sister did, but this dude apparently has other ideas. Do your thang, Guido.

Thanks so much for following along—and for the sweet words.

My friend said she'll have the baby shower photos ready this weekend, so I'm hoping I can have the long version up about a week from today. Stay tuned! :)

Hi Amanda,
I know of your journey from our time together on ttcal. I am so happy for you and hope everything goes perfect for you! I had to share with you back in October, the 24th to be exact, I had seen your blog link in one of your posts and started reading it during a boring afternoon at work. Not long after, I stood up and my water broke! 19 hours & a C Section later my rainbow arrived. It was spectacular and I hope your experience is too. We just started on ttcal about the same time and had bfp about the same times and I always remembered you! I really hope this didn't come across as creepy. LOL

Not creepy at all, Katie! Congratulations on your little miracle, and I have to say, it's pretty awesome that I was (kind of) a part of that wonderful day. :)

I'll come out of hiding too. :) I found your blog after my second miscarriage in November, and I've loved reading your story. You're honest, funny, and real, and you give me hope that someday I'll be able to carry to term even though my OB has no idea what's going on with me. Guido is a very lucky baby boy (can't wait for a name reveal!!), and I hope the next 46 days fly by, because I'm ready to "meet" him!!

Thanks, Bethany! I'm very sorry for your losses, but I'm glad my journey has given you hope. My diagnoses was "bad luck," too, so don't give up. Hoping you get your rainbow. <3
